Benson Tennis Club is run by volunteers in the best interest of its members, and we firmly believe in the old adage of the ‘more you put in, the more you get out’. That’s why we encourage everyone who plays tennis in Benson and the surrounding area to get involved and join our wonderful Club!
Not only are we a friendly and sociable bunch, but tennis is also a great way to stay fit and we have playing members from the age four to 70 plus! Anyone can play, no matter what their age, ability or background, and it is incredibly affordable – senior membership works out at under £2 per week, and juniors at less than £1 per week.
We welcome new members and actively encourage them to participate in all aspects of Club life, from attending the weekly Club Nights, to joining the organised group coaching sessions, playing in league and friendly matches, attending social events and helping out wherever possible.
Before committing to membership we welcome you to pop along once or twice, without obligation, to our Thursday Club Nights held year-round from 7.00pm to 10.00pm (and on Tuesdays during the Summer months - April to September). There are also Junior Club Nights on Friday evenings. You’ll quickly get a feel for whether the Club is for you, and after attending one or two sessions for free we would ask that you apply for membership. Once your fees have been paid in full, you will be given the entrance gate combination number and you are welcome to play on the courts any time they are available.
If you are new to the game, we offer beginners coaching sessions for senior members on a Monday night, and junior coaching for all standards and ages throughout the year. You don’t have to be a member to attend our group coaching classes, but we would encourage you to join after attending a term of coaching so that you can practice more often and join in our weekly club nights which help everyone to improve their game. And of course you do need to be a member in order to join in the active social side of the Club, which ranges from quiz nights to BBQs, American Tournaments, singles leagues and our legendary mulled wine Christmas Club Night.
