Court Use: Coaching

We currently engage two licensed LTA coaches for the club’s group coaching sessions, which are open to members and non-members. Our coaches are also authorised to give private lessons to Club members (see below). 

Coaching classes are held on our all-weather courts and there is no additional charge for the use of floodlights in the winter.  We are delighted to be able to use Benson Parish Hall for the under 8s Mini Tennis coaching during the colder months from September-April.

We actively encourage all junior and senior members alike to join the group coaching sessions that are organsied by the Club. Not only are these great fun and a chance to meet players of a similar standard, they are also the best way to learn new techniques and on-court skills that will rapidly improve your standard of play.  

Group coaching follows the school calendar, with breaks for the holidays, and in addition we endeavour to run Junior Tennis Camps in the school holidays.

Courses are advertised before the start of term, usually by email to all members but details will also be posted on the web site. Sessions are normally paid for by term in advance, although drop-in rates can be arranged for members who have work and family commitments that prevent them from attending weekly. 

Group coaching currently costs £6 per hour for seniors and £5.50 per hour for juniors and non-members pay a supplement. We strongly recommend that non-members join the Club after attending a term of coaching, so they can practice more often and continue to improve their game.

Members can arrange private sessions with either of our two authorised coaches by contacting them directly. Private classes currently cost £27 per hour.
